Every new year people make goals to improve some area of their lives. Whether it be to lose weight, save/make more money or finding their perfect balance; resolutions to improve how you live is at the forefront every January.  This year try making your oral health a priority and see the benefits in many areas of your life. These 4 steps are not only manageable, they will also help you create the building blocks of a solid healthy dental hygiene practice.

Step 3: Drink more water.  Drinking water, especially after meals or sugary snacks will help reduce the amount of food stuck to your teeth which can lead to bacteria. Water will also help balance the pH in your mouth to lessen the chance of cavities. Drinking plenty of water is one of the best ways to lose weight, lighten a mood, and it’s easy on the wallet.  Fluoridated water is great for your teeth.  

Step 4: Last and certainly not least,  schedule your 6 month checkup and cleaning.  Visiting the dentist is the best way to check for gum disease, cavities, oral cancer and any other oral problem.
